It was agreed to donate the property, half an acre of abandoned grassland with no development potential, to the Skolie Burn Community Meadow Restoration SCIO if they pay legal fees. They have now raised sufficient funds for the solicitors and it is getting close to the transfer going through. The other land owners (Bank of Scotland and the majority a local farmer) have donated their pieces on the same terms.
We get periodic updates about the fox, deer, birds, and wildflowers that have come back since they have begun cleaning up the area. If any of parishioners are interested, I’m sure they would be welcomed as volunteers on clean up days, or just to visit.
