At a recent meeting attended by 7 parishioners a framework to celebrate this important milestone in the life of the parish was agreed. The year will begin with Mass on 31st January which is one day before the feast of St. Bridget. This will be followed by tea/coffee and cakes. The year will end with Mass on Sunday 12th December celebrated by Archbishop Cushley. This will be followed by a reception, venue to be confirmed. There will be a number of social events and fundraising activities including the possibility of a dinner dance as well as an exhibition of photographs and other memorabilia. Ways to involve our schools and the wider community will be explored. A box into which you can put specific ideas as well as indicate areas you might like to get involved in will be placed in the church porch. The next planning meeting, to which all parishioners are invited, will be held on Wednesday 26th August after evening Mass. |
