Advent Rorate Mass

Invitation to Rorate Mass 2024 - We warmly invite you to this year’s Rorate Mass, a deeply spiritual celebration honouring the Blessed Virgin Mary, who is at the heart of the Advent season. This Advent, we are blessed to have special guests leading us in our spiritual journey through these three Wednesdays, guiding us in prayer and reflection as we prepare for Christmas:

• 4th December: Fr. Michael John Galbraith (Parish Priest, St. Mary's RC, Bathgate)
• 11th December: Fr. Andrzej Harden (Parish Priest, St. Aidan’s RC, Aviemore)
• 18th December: Rev. Jonanda Groenewald (Church of Scotland Minister, Polbeth Harwood & West Kirk of Calder)

 
The Rorate Mass takes place in near darkness, illuminated by the gentle glow of candles, creating a prayerful atmosphere. It is a moment to pause, reflect, and open our hearts to the hope and joy of Christ’s coming. 

We encourage everyone to bring lamps or candles to contribute to the sacred liturgy. Children are especially invited to bring lanterns or lamps to lead the clergy in a solemn entrance procession.

During the Liturgy of the Word, children will have the opportunity to participate in a special Children’s Liturgy in the side chapel, lovingly guided by our teachers.

Clergy will be available from 6pm for confession.
